“Every marriage is vulnerable, otherwise being married wouldn’t mean anything, would it? ” – Tina
Number of Times Seen – 1 (9 Jun 2020)
Brief Synopsis – In an attempt to find his birth parents, a man goes on a road trip with his wife and social worker
Bottom Line – Fun film that despite it’s quirkiness manages to stay entertaining The cast is superb with Ben Stiller, Patricia Arquette, Tea Leoni, Alan Alda, Mary Tyler Moore, George Segal and Lily Tomlin and they all are so enjoyable to watch here. The story itself drags along a bot too much around the midway point and makes it harder to really care what will happen next. The film manages to try and explore whether nature or nurture is what makes us who we are.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Dick Van Dyke was offered the role of Richard Schlichting. Originally, Mary Tyler Moore was to play the role of his wife Mary but she eventually switched roles in order to portray Pearl Coplin. (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy (6/10)
