“Brian Wilson’s decision to get off the road and to get into the studio is one of the most profound moments in rock history cause it really is when Brian Wilson, I think intuitively decided that he was gonna be an artist.” – David Wild

Brief Synopsis – Documentary about how the Beach Boys and their music became so iconic in the 60’s and helped create a new wave of music for us all to love.
My Take on it – This is a documentary that I came across by accident and was pleasantly surprised as to how informative and fascinating it is.
As a fan of the songs of the Beach Boys, watching this documentary was a way to get so much more insight into what went into making some of their most popular hits songs.
They allow us to hear first hand how things started for the band and more importantly the key elements that allowed them to stay together for so long also.
We get to learn about what ingredients they needed to use in order to form the band and their hit songs.
In addition, we also get to understand how they were able to change the face of music at the time and ever since.
The ability to still gather together so many of the band members along with many of those who helped behind the scenes is great to see especially since they give us so much direct information about how things progressed for them over the course of their careers.
Bottom Line – Fascinating documentary that allows us to hear first hand how it all started for this famous band, but more importantly, how is continued over the next few decades. The film gives us some great insight into the key elements that went into creating this band and their hits and how they were able to change the face of music at the time. The fact that most of the members of the band and those who worked behind the scenes are still around helps give us so much more direct information of how things progressed over the years for this group. Recommended!
