Brief Synopsis – Interview with former Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev as he expresses his thoughts on the events of the past 40 years.
My Take on it – As a fan of history, I was quite interested in seeing this documentary.
As a child of the 80’s I recall the Soviet summits between Reagan ad Gorbachev and was quite curious to see how the events of over 30 years ago are viewed now from one of these great men.-U.S.
This film is able to give us unique insight into the mind of someone who helped forge some very powerful political relationships that helped shape the world we live in now.
To be able to gain so much from the perspective of one of the men who helped pave the way for the downfall of Communism behind the Iron Curtain is quite intriguing to listen to because it is such a fascinating viewpoint.
Werner Herzog is a great documentary director and he is able to give us so much background on both this iconic man and how his country moved along during the Cold War.
This allows even an uninitiated viewer to get a better understanding of it all.
They do a wonderful job giving us perspectives on the events described of other former world leaders and political scientists which allows us to gain a much clearer view of how it all transpired and how it all was affected by the changes.
