Brief Synopsis – After rumors surface that the Emperor is still alive, the fledgling Rebellion tries to find a way to stop him form destroying the Galaxy.
My Take on it – This is a great addition to the Star Wars saga and is a fitting way to end the entire series.
They find a way to tie in so many of the various story lines of the series into this final film and give such a satisfying conclusion to them.
It’s great seeing characters from the various films show up here along with new characters which helps make this universe of characters and aliens come alive.
The film has some amazing fight scenes that are choreographed really well because they keep things so thrilling throughout.
The fight scene in the waves is exceptional to watch.
The film’s special effects are spectacular and help enhance things so much because they truly take us to a place set a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.
The film is able to give us the same kind of feeling that the original trilogy gave us especially given the tone and themes of the film.
They do a wonderful job capping off the entire series with this film.
There are a few problems along the way with the plot which has some blunders along the way, but they get so much right here in finding a way to finish the Skywalker Saga.
Bottom Line – Another great addition to the Star Wars Saga that manages to tie up so many of the loose ends in the story line. Great seeing characters from all of the films return here in order to help take the story out with a bang. The fights scenes are choreographed really well and the scene in the waves is quite spectacular to watch. The film’s special effects help enhance things so much along the way and allow the story to take us to a time and place that truly feels like it transpires a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. The film is able to bring back the feel of the original trilogy in its tone and themes and that helps make this a great way to cap off such an epic story. The story does have a few blunders along the way plot wise, but they get so much more right than wrong here while portraying this final visit to the story of the Skywalker family saga. Can’t wait to see this again! Highly Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – When George Lucas originally laid out plans for 12 episodes, then reduced it to nine, he said that C-3PO and R2-D2 would be the only characters to appear in all nine. This proves to be true: Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, the only other characters to appear in every movie of the original and prequel trilogies, did not appear in the sequel trilogy. Anthony Daniels is the only actor to appear in all nine episodes. (From IMDB)
Rating – Oscar Worthy (9/10) (no change from original review)
