This a Covid-19 2020 minireview!
“Hey I’m not a super hero, I just write stories about them.” – Stan Lee
Number of Times Seen – 1 (2 Aug 2020)
Brief Synopsis – Stan Lee meets a group of aliens ad helps train them to become super heroes that he can write comics about.
Bottom Line – Fun idea that unfortunately doesn’t work well enough because it is too similar to the kind of stories already penned by Lee for decades. None of the characters have unique superpowers that we already haven;t seen and it seems as if they just copied regular superhero films and changed them all slightly to be included here. The story itself is a bit bland and fails to be as engaging as one might hope. The best part about this film tho is that Lee paces himself in the story and is the main character who needs to deal with the personalities of these characters while also struggling through the bureaucracy of the system.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – On March 16, 2013, Hub Network announced its pick up of “Stan Lee’s Mighty 7” animated pilot movie.[7] Two more films and a TV series were planned to air on Hub Network, but due to the channel being replaced by Discovery Family; none of these productions have aired as of August 21, 2015 and it is unknown if they were ever completed due to Stan Lee’s death in November 2018. Rating – BAFTA Worthy (6/10)
