Irreplaceable You (2018)

This a Covid-19 2020 minireview!

“You’re the only one who gets to make bad decisions ‘coz you’re dying?” – Myron

Number of Times Seen – 1 (2 Sep 2020)

Brief Synopsis – After finding out that she has a terminal illness, a woman does all she can to find a new woman for her fiance for after she is gone.

Bottom Line – Quite an interesting concept that works better than one might assume The characters have great chemistry together and we ca really believe their relationship. The two main characters are played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Michiel Huisman are both great as the lead characters and they have great chemistry with one another that helps make their relationship feel quite plausible. The film’s twist shows how much she loves and cares about him, even if it is an abnormal request that she makes of him.  Christopher Walken plays a great  character who is so much different from the kinds he usually plays and its quite fun watching him here.  The story might be a bit predictable and that hurts things a bit. Recommended!!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – This was the second Netflix movie released in February 2018 starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw. The first was The Cloverfield Paradox (2018). (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
