Battle in Seattle (2007)

This a Covid-19 2020 minireview!

“Be tough on your issues but be gentle on my town.” Mayor Jim Tobin

Number of Times Seen – 1 (21 Sep 2020)

Brief Synopsis – A riot breaks out between protestors and police during a World Trade Organization meeting in Seattle.

Bottom Line – Pretty poor attempt at an ensemble film about a social and ecological event.  The cast is extremely strong here, yet none of them manage to stand out and help make things more powerful. The story itself is presented competently, but something constantly feels off that would have made things even more enjoyable to watch unfold. Their attempt to get various viewpoints on these events comes across in a sloppy manner and doesn’t add enough to the story.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Writing and Directing debut of actor Stuart Townsend. (From IMDB)

Rating – BAFTA Worthy (5/10)
