Broken Bridges (2006)

This a Covid-19 2020 minireview!

“I came out here to lay down the ground rules. One, don’t speak to my parents. Two, don’t speak to Dixie. And three, don’t speak to me.” – Angela Dalton

Number of Times Seen – 1 (22 Sep 2020)

Brief Synopsis – A struggling Country-Western singer returns to his home town and is reunited with his long lost love and the daughter he never met before.

Bottom Line – Pretty mediocre film that doesn’t feel very original in what it does. The cast is fine and Toby Keith shows that he can act (even as a character like himself). Kelly Preston is great here as his former girlfriend and the mother of his daughter. Loved seeing Burt Reynolds in a small yet powerful role. The story itself gives an interesting perspective n this kind of story and the tributes to the fallen soldiers both in words and in song work really well. Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The film debut of country music singer Toby Keith. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
