This a Covid-19 2020 minireview!
“Now, I’m not saying that I’m any better or stronger than you are. It’s just, we… you and I have different temperaments. And my temperament is better and stronger than yours!” – Patsy Newquist
Number of Times Seen – 1 (25 Sep 2020)
Brief Synopsis – Two people who come from very diverse families meet accidentally in New York and eventually decide to get married, but how will their families cope?
Bottom Line – Really crazy and insane film that has it’s moments, but they are a few and far between. The cats s superb and help keep things very esoteric and strange. Part of the genius of some of the scenes here are that they are able to make us laugh at dramatic scenes and cry at humorous ones. Unfortunately tho, the film tries to cram too much social commentary into things and it feel overwhelming the whole way.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – According to Elliott Gould, he wanted Jane Fonda to play the role of Patsy. But when he met with Fonda, he was so intimidated by her that he could not speak. (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy (5/10)
