Doc (1971)

This a Covid-19 2020 minireview!

“You’re not going to solve anything with a gun.” – Clum

“You’d be surprised the things you can solve with a gun.” – Wyatt Earp

Number of Times Seen – 1 (27 Sep 2020)

Brief Synopsis – Doc Holliday is invited to join his good friend Wyatt Earp in order to clean up the town of Tombstone.

Bottom Line – Very heavy and gritty look at the life of Doc Holiday which doesn’t work well enough. Stacy Keach is a great actor, but isn’t able to make us care about this character at all due to the way he is portrayed here. The pacing is far too slow and they never give us any real reason to want to root for this character. There are some good action scenes, but overall, the story just doesn’t work well enough based on how they present it here.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Stacy Keach portrays famous western figure Doc Holliday in this film. Less than a decade later, he would portray another legendary western figure, Frank James, in The Long Riders (1980). (From IMDB)

Rating – BAFTA Worthy (6/10)
