Brief Synopsis – Documentary about how the SEGA company joined in on the home video game market and took on the Nintendo company in the 1990’s.

My Take on it – This is a film that I saw an interview about and it caught my attention and curiosity.

As someone who has always enjoyed video games, watching the history of the industry is quite fascinating to absorb.

This is a film that is able to show how competitive a market the video game industry has been ever since its iception 30+ years ago.

The film gives us some very frank interviews with so many of the people involved in the two companies of Sega and Nintendo during their very competitive run during the late 80’s and early 90’s.

We get to hear about the various tactics and methods used by these men and women to try and crush the competition and make their company more successful.

These companies definitely laid the groundwork for the XBOX and Playstation consoles of today along with the rivalry between these companies in the gaming world.

Really loved the way that this film is able to show us both sides of this issue and does its est to be as objective on this subject as possible.

Bottom Line – Fascinating documentary that allows us to see how competitive a market the video game industry was in the late 80’s and early 90’s. The interviews are quite frank and we learn so much about the various tactics and methods used by these companies in order to try and become even more successful. These companies laid the groundwork for the way that the gaming world now looks at things. Love the way that this film is able to give us both sides of this issue and does it’s best to stay as objective as possible. Recommended!
