The Secrets We Keep (2020)

This a Covid-19 2020 minireview!

“My life will never be normal.” – Maja

Number of Times Seen – 1 (16 Oct 2020)

Brief Synopsis – A decade after she escaped from the terrors of World War II, a young immigrant to the US suspects that a local worker is the same man who tortured and raped her years earlier.

Bottom Line – fascinating idea that is played out really well.  We can easily see the pain and suffering on the characters as things progress.  The cats is great and Noomi Rapace really stands out in the lead role here because e can see on her face everything that she went through in her youth. The films does a wonderful job keeping certain aspects of the story ambiguous because it helps raise some doubt as to whether this man is responsible for the crimes committed agianst this woman or not. Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Both Joel Kinnaman and Noomi Rapace were born in Sweden; both also starred in Child 44 (2015). (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
