Brief Synopsis – An estranged father and son who have very different opinions about everything in life must find a way to deal with their differences after he agrees to take his father into their house.
Bottom Line – Excellent look at the way that characters can interact. Viggo Mortensen and Lance Hendricks are so electrifying here. The film is fueled by great dialogue between these two characters which helps establish who they really are. The way that this film tries to shed light on their conversations, helps make them feel like real people for the audience to take in. At the same time, the film tries to tell a powerful message about family and what we all must be willing to do to help others when needed (even when we really don’t have the time or inclination . Mortensen also directs this film and helps make it more interesting to watch because of his eye for detail and for the conversation between the characters which tell us so much. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The scenes of the dead duck and the snake were real incidents from Viggo’s youth. He told the stories over a couple of visits to David Letterman’s Late Show. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
