Number of Times Seen – 1 (30 Oct 2020)

Brief Synopsis – A documentary that tries to show that despite living in an ever changing world, the student of history can see that nothing is truly new.

My Take on it – This is a documentary that I came across by accident and was quite curious to see what it was all about.

Jon Meacham is a fascinating historian to listen to and his views on American History are always so eye opening.

He has sent decades studying the patterns in the history of the country and is truly an expert on things from a political perspective.

They do a wonderful job splitting up the various subjects into fascinating sections that help make understanding the progress of things over the years along with the ebb and flow of it all over and over again during the near 2 and a half Centuries that America has been a country.

This is a movie packed with lots of information about the different kinds of problems that America has faced throughout its history and hearing the viewpoint of Meacham is so enjoyable.

Watching this film has convinced me to read his book that this film is based n in order t get an even broader perspective on everything.

Bottom Line – Great documentary that is so eye opening. Meacham has spent lots of time studying the history of America and his insights are really intriguing to listen to. The film does a great job of splitting up the history into concise chapters that allow us to get a nice understanding of how things have progressed and digressed over the country’s near 250 year history. The film is packed with lots of information about the problems that the country has faced over the years and Mecham’s perspective in things is great to hear. I’m actually quite interested in reading the book that this documentary is based on. Recommended!
