Number of Times Seen – 1 (29 Nov 2020)
Brief Synopsis – Documentary about the various people who claim to know the true identity of one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in U.S. History.
My Take on it – I recall learning about the case of D.B. Cooper as a kid and was always fascinated by the sheer gall of his actions.
When I came across this documentary, I was immediately interested in seeing what it was all about because perhaps it could shed light on this 50 year old mystery.
They do a wonderful job showing us various scenarios of the people who claim to have been the mysterious hijacker and the prospect of possibly learning his fate was intriguing.
The stories of the four suspects are all quite convincing and herein lays the biggest problem of this film.
Each of the stories are plausible but since it is virtually impossible for them all to be true, the film can be frustrating at certain points since it is all subjective.
There are blatant contradictions in the stories, but that is expected since it’s obvious impossible for all of these stories to be true.
The film gives us lots and lots of information about each of these scenarios yet leaves it for the viewer to make their own conclusions as to the true identity of the perpetrator of this unsolved mystery.
Bottom Line – Fascinating film that tries to tell us about the various scenarios of what possibly was the fate of the airline hijacker known as D.B. Cooper. They do a nice job chronicling the different people claiming to know his true identity. There are some obvious contradictions between the various stories yet that is expected since it’s obviously impossible for all of the four suspects to be the real man. The film is able to show how it can be possible for there to be numerous attempts to find a solution to one of the most unexplained crimes in US History. They do a nice job trying to give the viewer as much information as possible and allow us to try and make our own conclusions based on this information. Recommended!
