This a Covid-19 2020 minireview!
“[as Troy’s friend starts to stand up] Unless you’re growin’, Sit down!” – Sgt. Joe Friday
Number of Times Seen – 1 (9 Dec 2020)
Brief Synopsis – Two police detectives investigate the brutal murder of a mobster.
Bottom Line – Interesting film that doesn’t stand up as well 66 years after it was made. Jack Webb is obvious superb as Joe Friday and this film spawned the popular TV show with the same name. The film doesn’t shy away from showing how tedious and painstaking a police investigation can be. Today, we take this for granted because of the plethora of police procedurals on TV which cut out some of the tediousness of it all.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The first theatrical film based on a television show. (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy (6/10)
