“Dreyfuss is innocent.” – Picquart
Number of Times Seen – 1 (18 Dec 2020)
Brief Synopsis – A French officer seeks out proof that Alfred Dreyfuss who was convicted of treason is really innocent.
Bottom Line – Great depiction of the way that an officer with integrity does all he can to prove the innocence of a man he barely knows. The story plays out really well and we get to see the corruption in the system and the attempt by some to root it out while other want it to fester as is. The cast is great and both Jean Dujardin and Louis Garrel do wonderful jobs in these roles. Roman Polanski does a superb job directing this film because we get to see the web of deceit that flows throughout this coverup. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The production was originally conceived as an English-language film with a Hollywood star in the lead to be shot on locations in Poland. Later, tax cuts enabled the film to be produced on the original locations in Paris, France, and in the French language with a French cast. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)
