Number of Times Seen – 1 (22 Dec 2020)

Brief Synopsis – Documentary about the history of nudity in the movies.

My Take on it – This is a documentary that I came across by accident and despite it’s quite obscure premise, it still made me curious to see what it was all about.

This was such an eye opening and candid film that really gives us so much insight into the how and why nudity was introduced into mainstream movies more than a Century ago and why that trend has never stopped, but actually became more influential in the movie making process.

The film is quite comprehensive in its roster of movies thru the ages of film.

The find fscinating ways to show the ups and downs of the industry over the years and how much baring skin influenced the times.

The interviews are amazing to watch since the are able to get such an eclectic group of people to speak about the issues on hand, especially given each of these people’s prominent roles that deal with the subject matter.

The very candid way they discuss these events of the past are so enlightening.

It’s great being able to hear their thoughts on the issues back when they happened along with their current thoughts on the matters.

The plethora of films discussed and shown via clips are quite amazing and the ability to not make such a film feel repetitive is so clever because it all comes across feeling quite unique.

Bottom Line – Really fascinating documentary that is quite eye opening with how comprehensive it truly is. They are able to describe the various ups and downs over the decades about how nudity was viewed and shown on screen. The interviews are fascinating to watch because we get to hear the thoughts of many actors and actresses who have bared it all over the years and learn about their current perspectives on the whole issue. The film is filled with so many examples of films that featured nudity and they do a wonderful job keeping this story from seeming repetitive and instead they manage to show things from new and unique perspectives along the way. Recommended!
