This a Covid-19 2020 minireview!
“[to Howard Nightingale] Honest men stay honest only as long as it pays. That’s why I’m a thief and you’re a liar.” – Jack Strawhorn
Number of Times Seen – 1 (27 Dec 2020)
Brief Synopsis – A marshal with political aspirations tries to capture a wanted train robber in order to further his chances of getting elected.
Bottom Line – Pretty boring western that doesn’t manage to really give us anything new or innovative here. Both Kirk Douglas and Bruce Dern are great actors but neither is given enough to do here. None of the characters are developed here which makes it so much harder to care about anything that happens here. The action scenes are the one thing that is fun to watch here.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – This movie was the first role for James Stacy following his 1973 motorcycle accident in which he was hit by a drunk driver, resulting in the loss of his left arm and left leg. Kirk Douglas created the role especially for Stacy. (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy (5/10)
