Number of Times Seen – 1 (8 Feb 2021)
Brief Synopsis – A successful businesswoman travels to her family for the holidays and brings along her girlfriend under the guise of just being a roommate since her family is still completely unaware that she is gay.
My Take on it – Really fun holiday film that gives us a great family dynamic along with a powerful message.
The cast is great and they all help keep things so enjoyable throughout.
The modern take on the family connections is fun to watch and they manage to find ways to keep the story fun and entertaining throughout.
The story has a great message that works well because of the way that these characters are developed so well as things progress along the way.
What I really enjoyed about this film was the way that they take an overly used holiday trope theme and find a way to present it in a very unique and innovative way.
Love the way that the story feels so fresh and fun the whole way through and the scenes with Dan Levy are superb especially when you pay close attention to what he is doing in each of those scenes while he is conversing with other characters.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Director Clea DuVall wrote the film as an autobiography. She has said that she wrote it so she could see her own experiences play out on screen. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)
