The idea behind this feature (Genre Guesstimation) is for me to watch a bunch of new movies (or ones that I haven’t seen many times) from the chosen monthly GG genre in order to expand my knowledge of movies within that particular genre.
This month’s genre has been chosen by Aaron Neuwirth of the Code is Zeek and we will be reviewing our favorite Horror-Comedy Films.
Please get me your submissions by the 25th of Feb by sending them to scaryfunnyaaron@movierob.net
Try to think out of the box! Great choice Aaron!
Let’s see if I felt that this movie would be worthy of being in the company of my others favorite movies in the genre of Horror-Comedy Films……
“When you love something, you shoot it in the face… So it doesn’t become a flesh eating monster.” – Wichita
Number of Times Seen – 1 (14 Feb 2021)
Brief Synopsis – Continuing the adventures of 4 survivors in a Zombie Apocalypse as they do all they can to survive together.
My Take on it – This is a film that I’ve been meaning to watch for quite a while and finally got around to it for this new milestone.
They do a nice job continuing the adventures of these characters in a Zombie infested world.
The characters that were already established in the first film are fun to revisit and see how living in this kind of world has affected them over the past decade.
The story is fun but they fail to really be innovative or original in many aspects along the way.
The best thing about this kind of film is that they know how to make fun of themselves and that is quite apparent by many of the jokes show along the way.
Besides the returning cast, the film adds Luke Wilson, Rosario Dawson, Zoey Deutch and Thomas Middleditch who all help make things even more enjoyable to watch unfold.
Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The story that Tallahassee tells in the hotel about his Elvis impersonation is the true story of how Woody Harrelson got into acting. (From IMDB)
Genre Grandeur Worthy? – Not quite. Fun sequel, but still not as innovative or original as the first film’s premise was.
Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
