Brief Synopsis – A group of volunteer fire fighters train in order to become part of the teams that help keep towns safe from deadly brush fires.

My Take on it – Amazing story that is even more powerful once one knows that it’s base don real events.

They do a wonderful job developing the characters in a way that we can care about them.

The camaraderie and unity that these characters show is essential to this kind of job since one constantly needs to be able to trust the man next to you.

The character arcs of the two main characters played by Miles Teller and Josh Brolin are both great and give us even more reason to care about them and everything that happens to them along the way.

They also allow us to see how unique and heroic each of these men can be when needed in the call for duty.

The story is told in a very realistic fashion that manages to show us what kind of work these men train for along with the dangers that their jobs entail.

The cast is great with Josh Brolin, Jeff Bridges, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, James Badge Dale, Taylor Kitsch, Andie McDowell and Geoff Stults all adding so much emotion to their performances.

Having watched this a second time gives the viewer even more insights into the story especially since you already know what will happen.

Highly Recommended!
