Number of Times Seen – 1 (1 Mar 2021)
Brief Synopsis – A lawyer has a conflict of conscious when she is hired to defend an old friend who has been accused of murdering her husband.
My Take on it – Intriguing story that manages to find a way to stay gripping and thrilling as things progress.
The cast is great with Barbara Hershey, Sam Shepherd, Mary Beth Hurt and J.T. Walsh all doing wonderful jobs with their characters.
The film is able to constantly change directions of the story over and over as they add in a few nice twists as things play out.
They do a nice job of keeping most of the characters ambiguous as to whether they are a good or bad person and that raises the stakes along the way because we never are quite sure who we should trust and who we should be more weary of.
Te story takes things into some very dark places which is used to make sure that none of the characters or their motivations are sugarcoated or downplayed.
This helps make things even more powerful and thrilling to watch as things move forward.
The courtroom scenes are also great and allow things to get very heated as the characters try to discover the real truth about all that has transpired along the way.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The cemetery tour hearse used in the film was borrowed from the real life Hollywood tour business, Grave Line Tours! (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
