Final Destination 2 (2003)

“Yeah, like, what if we’re all getting that “Diff’rent Strokes” curse or something?” – Rory

Number of Times Seen – 1 (3 Mar 2021)

Brief Synopsis – After a woman has a premonition about a tragic road accident, she is able to save a number of fellow motorists, but now that they seem to be mysteriously getting killed in other ways, the survivor believe that the Angel of Death is after them.

My Take on it – Once again, despite not being a fan of horror films, I decided to continue with this series and see how they all play out.

The film uses a massive traffic accident as the way that the characters were suppose to die and between all of the choices of mass deaths that this series deals with, I think this is the one that the tragedy feels the most realistic.

The characters aren’t developed at all in the film and that is because it would be a complete waste to develop anyone deemed as pure cannon fodder.

The special effects are superbly done here and help bring this accident into a very realistic view.

They do a nice job of thinking of some very unique and innovative ways to kill off the survivors and that also adds to it all.

This is my second favorite of the films in the series because of the realistic way that they portray things here.

Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Real logs were tested for the crash sequence, but they “didn’t bounce enough”, so in the film the logs are CGI. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
