Mindhunters (2004)

“I guess we found out his weakness: bullets.” – Gabe

Number of Times Seen – Twice (10 Apr 2006 and 11 Mar 2021)

Brief Synopsis – During a training mission on a secluded island, a team of FBI profilers must try and discover who among them is a serial killer as they begin to die one by one.

My Take on it – Great psychological thriller that works on numerous levels.

The cast is superbly chosen and they do a great job of keeping things quite ambiguous throughout in order to make both everyone a suspect and also make everyone not safe from the killer.

Loved seeing Val Kilmer, Christian Slater, Kathryne Morris, LL Cool J, Eion Bailey, Jonny Lee Miller and Clifton Collins Jr. in this film because they all play these characters so well because they are all so layered as things move along.

The story moves along at a great pace and they do a wonderful job keeping things constantly changing directions as things progress.

The action sequences are also done well and this once again shows how great a thrilling director Renny Harlin can be.

The story is played out in a very clever way which helps make things even more enjoyable to watch unfold.

The fact that all of these characters are quite intelligent also adds so much to the story because we get to learn so much about the characters and situations as things move forward.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The studio did not cast any character as a lead. Director Renny Harlin wanted no dummy characters or obvious victims and established a sense that “anyone could die at any moment” in the film. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)
