“You have a good job, you make good money, and you don’t beat your wife. What more could a Latino father-in-law ask for?” – Kumar
Number of Times Seen – Twice (26 Jan 2012 and 15 Mar 2021)
Brief Synopsis – A now married Harold must enlist the help of his best friend Kumar after they accidentally burn down his father-in-law’s Christmas Tree.
My Take on it – Another fun sequel to this series that once again gives us entertaining adventures by these characters.
The story unfortunately tho has truly run its course with the previous two films and this is by far the weakest and least funny of the trilogy. (There is a reason they stopped after 3)
The story also doesn’t feel as free spirited as the other two did.
This could also be partly due to the fact that the series creators Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg took a step back during the making of this one.
Great seeing some of the favorites returning here, especially Niel Patrick Harris who continues to show how hilarious he can be when not given any limitations in a role.
The story is paced well and we get to see the various kinds of mishaps that these characters encounter along the way which still keeps things entertaining to watch unfold.
The film does a nice job showing how these characters both change and stay the same after moving on with their lives in somewhat more respectable ways.
The jokes here, like in the previous films, go a bit too far, yet still remain fun and entertaining to watch despite this.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – One of the lies Adrian tells Mary is that Kumar works at the White House. Kal Penn, who plays Kumar, had actually been working at the White House and took time off from that job to make this movie. (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy (6/10)
