“I could get used to a view like this. Yep, I’m used to it. Guys, I want a castle.” – Flynn Rider
Number of Times Seen – Twice (9 Jan 2011 and 23 Mar 2021)
Brief Synopsis – A princess with magical hair is kidnapped by an evil woman and kept far away from the kingdom so that she will never discover her true identity.
My Take on it – Amazing looking animated film that has a so-so story line.
This was Disney’s 50th animated film and unfortunately, it doesn’t rank up on top with the best, but still is also far from being the worst.
Mandy Moore does a great job voicing the main character of Rapunzel and Zachary Levi is also fun as the thief who doesn’t know what he has stumbled upon.
As with most Disney animated films of this era, they have great music that is accompanied by an Oscar nominated song.
The song – I see the Light is quite enjoyable.

The story is fun to watch unfold even if it isn’t as captivating as one might hope for.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Disney’s previous animated feature The Princess and the Frog (2009), despite being popular with critics and audiences alike, was a box office disappointment. Disney felt that the film’s princess theme discouraged young boys from seeing it. In an attempt to market the film to a broader audience, Disney changed the title of the film from Rapunzel to Tangled, and promoted it as a comedic adventure. An early trailer for the film focused less on Princess Rapunzel and more on Flynn Rider, the male lead character. It was originally believed that Disney’s marketing campaign was a desperate attempt to search for a particular audience. However, directors Byron Howard and Nathan Greno claimed that the title change was to emphasize that Flynn has as much of a role in the film as Rapunzel. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
