Out For Justice (1991)

“Now look, I feed you every dope-dealing guy he’s got, but let me do it my way. Just give me an unmarked and a shotgun.” – Det. Gino Felino

Number of Times Seen – Twice (Theater in ’91 and 18 Apr 2021)

Brief Synopsis – After his partner is shot in cold blood, a tough New York City Detective tries to find the killer before the mob gets to him first.

My Take on it – Another terrible Steve Seagal movie.

The plot makes very little sense besides giving Seagal an opportunity to beat up as many stunt men as he can.

His character is vain and overly fond of himself which doesn’t help endear him to the audience.

This movie is filled with numerous plot holes that are never even attempted to be plugged up.

The story plays out in a confusing way that isn’t explained as things move along and that doesn’t help make it more enjoyable to watch.

Once again, the story feels far too Seagal-centric in all that they do as he attempts to allow the actor to kill and maim more and more stunt men as humanly possible in unique and sometimes gruesome ways despite having an almost non-existent plot.

The villain isn’t developed well at all and there is no reason to even feel that he is menacing in any way or for that matter an equal to Seagal’s character.

The story doesn’t leave things open for mystery because of the way that the cat and mouse game is shown here between the various sides of the issue.

BTW, can anyone explain what the story with Seagal’s beret is? It looks ridiculous.. 🙂

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Steven Seagal declared in an interview that the movie’s bar brawl was his personal favorite among all fight scenes he’s done. (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy (3/10)
