Welcome to Collinwood (2002)

“Please, your honor I’m here to confess. That man is innocent. Your honor I can no longer live with the guilt. It was me who was stealing that car, I confess. My brother Cosimo, Saint Cosimo as he’s known on the streets, was only trying to stop me. And I told him, ‘Cosimo, I need to steal this car, I’m a car thief, I steal cars… by myself.'” – Pero

Number of Times Seen – 1 (2 May 2021)

Brief Synopsis – A group of misfits plan a flawless heist where everything that can go wrong, does.

My Take on it – Film with an amazing cast that doesn’t manage to deliver as well as it could due to the very strange tone of everything along the way.

The film’s cast includes Sam Rockwell, William H. Macy, Isaiah Washington, Michael Jeter, Luiz Guzman, Patricia Clarkson and George Clooney.

The characters are all quite quirky and it’s so hard to really care about any of them because of the way that they all act along the way.

The story is purposely told in a repetitive way and instead of helping make things more intriguing, it’s actually more annoying like this.

The plot itself is a simple one and that adds to the stupidity of all of the characters involved here.

The movie was directed by the Russo Brothers and this is further proof that they can handle action movies so much better than black comedies like this one.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – George Clooney’s scenes were all shot in four days. (From IMDB)

Rating – BAFTA Worthy (5/10)
