Number of Times Seen – 1 (4 May 2021)
Brief Synopsis – A group of genetically imperfect clones use their skills to become some of the best fighters in the Empire.
My Take on it – Yesterday was May the Fourth Be With You Day and they released the pilot episode of a new Star Wars animated series that focuses on a group of genetically imperfect clones created for The Clone Wars and I was quite eager to see what this series will have to offer by watching the pilot.
This is such an amazing introduction to these group of clones.
The film does a wonderful job showing the varying abilities and personalities of each of these clones which is able to emphasis that not everything in cloning needs to be an exact copy, just a similar one.
Love the way that the story fits right into the timeline of the films as we get to see how Order 66 is enacted while also seeing the reaction of the various personalities involved to this very divisive order.
The story also brings things back to Kamino and fills in a lot of the information about the living and training conditions of the Clone Troopers.
The story is built up well and they give the viewer enough of an idea of the conflicts between these clones and other clones in the facility, along with the administrators.
The action scenes are done really well and add so much to the way that the story plays out.
If I take into account what they show in this pilot, I can’t wait to see how these characters are developed over the course of the series as a whole.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – In the premiere episode “aftermath”, Tech at point says Echo is “more machine than man.” This is a clear nod to the same line spoken by Obi-Wan Kenobi to Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi (1983) in reference to Darth Vader. (From IMDB)
Rating – Oscar Worthy (9/10)
