Brief Synopsis – On his very first mission as a licensed 00 Agent, James Bond is sent to try and uncover why a banker is trying to make money from terrorist bombings.

My Take on it – Such a great change of pace for the Bond films.

First of all, Daniel Craig is perfectly cast as the new 007 and he is able to bring in so much energy and action into this character and his story.

This is the very first film in the long series that can actually be considered an all-out action film and they do such a great job keeping the story so thrilling from start to finish.

It is paced so well and the way that things flow is so much fun and suspenseful to watch.

The film also takes the time to deal with the fact that Bond is human and has feelings that he needs to try and keep in check as the story takes him places that we’ve never seen his character reach because of the emotional aspects of it all.

This adds a kind of vulnerability that works since it shows that Bond isn’t completely “bullet-proof” emotionally and physically.

The supporting cast is also great with Judi Dench, Giancarlo Giannini, Eva Green, Jeffrey Wright and Mads Mikkelsen all adding so much more intrigue into the way that the plot plays out.

This is by far one of the very best films in the entire Bond series!

Highly Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The car barrel roll stunt by the Aston Martin DBS broke the world record for the most barrel rolls assisted by a cannon. Originally, the racing specifications of the DBS meant that a standard ramp would not be sufficient to get the car to roll, so the special effects team were called in to install an air-powered cannon behind the driver’s seat. This allowed the car to complete seven full rolls. The stunt was officially entered into the Guinness Book of World Records on November 5, 2006. (From IMDB)

Rating – Oscar Worthy (9/10) (no change from original review)
