Number of Times Seen – 1 (13 May 2021)
Brief Synopsis – A woman believes that she can’t have more than twenty lovers in her past, so she attempts to find all of them in order to possibly find her soulmate.
My Take on it – Fun rom-com that doesn’t take itself too seriously and that helps keep it more enjoyable throughout.
Anna Faris is hilarious in the lead role and helps keep the story flowing in a way that stays interesting throughout.
Chris Evans is also so much fun to watch here especially since he is more largely known for his action hero films than romantic comedies like this one.
The film has a great supporting cast and they find some profound choices as some of her exes including Martin Freeman, Andy Samberg, Anthony Mackie and Chris Pratt (Faris’ husband at the time) who all add so much to their small scenes.
The film might be a bit predictable, yet still stays fun from start to finish.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – By the time the film was greenlit, the script was a few years old. Anna Faris was adamant that they raise Ally’s number of sexual partners, because she felt that a girl her age in the modern world would have more life experience. The studio, on the other hand, was adamant that it be 16 partners because they felt too many partners would make the character unrelatable to the audience. Anna lost the argument and the number they settled on was 20 sexual partners for Ally. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
