Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021)

“Talk to me and I’m gonna help you.  Alright?” – Hannah

Number of Times Seen – 1 (16 May 2021)

Brief Synopsis – After witnessing a murder, a young boy is hunted by assassins in the wilderness of Montana and must try and find someone to help keep him safe.

My Take on it – Interesting premise that works despite a few blatant plot holes.

The cats is great and we get to see how they all interact so well with one another

Anjelina Jolie, Jon Bernthal, Finn Little, Aidan Gillen, Nicholas Hoult and Jake Weber all add so much to the way that this story plays out.

Tyler Perry has a small cameo and despite his character having importance, he just disappears along the way.

The action is presented well and the dual dangers of a raging first fire and assassins actually helps raise the stakes even more as things play out.

The characters are underdeveloped, yet they still are able to give the viewer an idea about their loyalties and the direction that they are trying to take things.

The story is quite clever in some of the ways that they push things forward and that helps keep things so engaging and enjoyable the whole way through.

Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Taylor Sheridan was initially brought on to rewrite the script, but when another filmmaker dropped out of directing the film, he called the studio with an offer. “If I can get Angie to do this with me, I’ll direct it for you,” he said. The studio said, “Great. You’ll never get Angie.” (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
