Number of Times Seen – Twice (25 Jul 2009 and 19 May 2021)
Brief Synopsis – After getting engaged, a real estate agent tries to find a male friend to be his best man at the wedding.
My Take on it – This is a film that I saw not long after it came out, yet didn’t remember anything about it at all.
I decided to refresh my memory because a film starring Jason Segel and Paul Rudd can’t be that bad, right?
After rewatching it, I was actually shocked that I had no recollection about the story or characters.
This movie was hilarious and my wife and I couldn’t stop laughing throughout because f the various scenarios that these characters get themselves into along the way.
The dialogue is superb and helps add so much to the way that this plays out.
The best part of this film tho is the amazing chemistry between Rudd and Segel and that alone makes this worthwhile to watch because they are superb in every scene that they share together.
The supporting cast is also great with JK Simmons, Jane Curtain, Andy Samberg, Rashida Jones, Jon Favreau and Jaime Pressly all adding to the realistic feel of the characters and story.
Love the Lou Ferrigno cameos
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Sydney’s dog is named Anwar, after Anwar Sadat, the Egyptian president who was murdered in 1981. Following the movie’s release, one of Sadat’s daughters sued the producers because comparing a human to a dog is a serious insult in Egyptian culture. The lawyer representing Sadat’s daughter requested a formal apology from the U.S. Embassy in Egypt, which never came. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)
