Let’s see what Darren thought of this movie:

Rocketman is directed by Dexter Fletcher and stars Taron Egerton as the legendary Elton John. In Rocketman we get to see a fantasy version of Elton John’s early career, with his rise to stardom, his lifelong friendship with Bernie Taupin and his substance problems that nearly killed him.
If you are a fan of the songs of Elton John, they get worked into different stages of his life, which will play perfectly into how the story is told, while highlighting how managers in the industry can take advantage of their stars.
The performances from Taron Egerton, Jamie Bell and Richard Madden are all brilliant, making this feel even more enjoyable, with the singing being performed by Taron Egerton and never sounding out of place in anyway.
For me Rocketman is one of the most enjoyable biopics of all time, with the unique twists of turning Elton’s songs into musical of his life that will forever make him one of the most flamboyant performers we have ever seen.
10/10
Darren
