Enter the Dragon (1973)

“Man, you come right out of a comic book. ” – Williams

Number of Times Seen – 1 (10 Jun 2021)

Brief Synopsis – An agent is sent undercover to a secluded island to compete in a martial arts competition and to stop an opium war lord.

My Take on it – This is a film that I for some reason never had the opportunity to see until now despite it being so iconic.

Really fun and intriguing film that is so unique in its style and approach.

Bruce Lee is great i the lead role and makes his character come across in a very realistic manner.

The film treats its story in a simplistic manner, yet still finds ways to stay engaging and entertaining from start to finish.

The action scenes are expertly choreographed by Lee who gives the viewer such a fun action style that keep the characters using their martial arts skills in effective ways.

There aren’t many surprises here, but there really is no need for that in a story like this one.

Love the contrasting colors of both sides of the conflict showing that everything isn’t always black and white when it comes to good and evil.

The way that 3 central characters don Yellow throughout is also quite telling about their characters and their possible allegiance along the way.

The iconic final chase in the hall of mirrors is great to watch and that helps keep things feeling a bit more intriguing along the way.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Bruce Lee actually struck Jackie Chan in the face with one of his fighting sticks. He immediately apologized and insisted that Chan could work on all of his movies after that. Unfortunately, Lee died before he could keep his promise. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)
