Brief Synopsis – After his family is shamed by a rumor about the plot to assassinate Lincoln, Ben and his crew try to find to truth.

My Take on it – Such a fun sequel that works so well.

Nicholas Cage is perfect once again as the main character Benjamin Gates.

The story is filled with some great twists and turns as well as American History puzzles and riddles strewn all over the place.

The choice to focus on an event from the Civil War period AND to deal with various conspiracy theories is done really well and stays quite convincing.

The supporting cast is almost entirely brought back for the sequel with Justin Barth, Jon Voight, Harvey Keitel and Diane Kruger all helping keep things so much fun.

They are now joined with ED Harris, Helen Mirren, Ty Burrell and Bruce Greenwood who help add even more layers to the way this story plays out.

As an American history buff myself, I was happy to see how they brought together these conspiracies and myths while tailoring them to the plausibility of history.

It’s too bad they never made more films in this series.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Disney discovered that the shooting schedule at Mount Rushmore would displace the local Hill City High School prom that is held annually at the location. To make up for this, Disney paid for the prom by providing transportation to a new location in Rapid City, door prizes at the prom, and scholarships for the valedictorians.  (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10) (no change from original review)
