“Be precise in life. It makes all the difference.” – Dominic Toretto
Number of Times Seen – 1 (1 Aug 2021)
Brief Synopsis – The crew must try and stop an international terrorist who has a familial connection to one of them.
My Take on it – This is a franchise that I joined the bandwagon of late in the game but have still managed to enjoy them all.
This film, as with many of its predecessors manages to give the viewer exactly what they expect; an action film that is filled to the brim with amazing stunts.
Beyond that, the story isn’t necessarily the most coherent of the series, but it still works because it delivers what one wants from it.
The villain in this film isn’t as interesting as some of the previous ones and they do a fine job keeping this so convoluted and interesting at the same time.
Most of the main cast of the previous films are back and that helps add to the continuity of it all.
I will keep watching these films as they churn them out because they are fun despite the fact that they do take things a bit too far here (space????), but this isn’t one of the films in the franchise that I plan to rewatch in the near (or distant) future.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Vin Diesel posted a picture on social media wishing a happy birthday to Jordana Brewster. In the caption, he gave a hint to Brewster’s return in this sequel, after her character retired in Furious 7 (2015). (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy (6/10)
