Vacation Friends (2021)

“I watched so many guys wear themselves out, swimming against the rip-tide, swimming as hard as they could. They had to be extracted. Me? I found out the trick was… just float.” – Ron

Number of Times Seen – 1 (1 Sep 2021)

Brief Synopsis – A couple go away on a romantic vacation in Mexico and meet another couple who the connect with despite their crazy ideas.

My Take on it – Hilarious film that works so well.

Lil’ Rell Howry is great in the lead and makes so much of what happens feeling so realistic the whole way through.

The story is so much fun to watch due to the amazing chemistry of the 4 leads – Lil’ Rell Howry, Jon Cena, Yvonne Orji and Meredith Hagner who helps keep things so entertaining the whole way through especially when they get themselves into some very precarious and interesting positions along the way.

The story obviously has a tone that inevitably will cross the line, but they still find a way to keep it fun and enjoyable the whole way through.

The plot takes these characters into familiar territory yet still manage to throw in some innovative and unique situations and scenarios that help make this stand out a bit.

The film also finds ways to add some nice twists to the story which come across in such a funny way that it elevates things to a slightly higher level.

Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – As the two couples watch a Mexican wrestling match, Ron states that “anybody can do this” — the joke being that John Cena, who plays Ron, is a well-known professional wrestler. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
