The Day Reagan Was Shot (2001) – Encore Review

This a Covid-19 2021 minireview!

“Who gives a sh*t about the Academy Awards?” – William Casey

Number of Times Seen – Twice (30 Oct 2016 and 26 Sep 2021)

Brief Synopsis – After Reagan is shot, chaos ensue around his closest cabinet members who all try to take control.

Bottom Line – Great look at how Reagan’s attempted assassination held the country hostage despite no one really being aware of how things were playing out from a political perspective behind the scenes.  Great cats, but they mostly play their characters over the top. Dreyfuss and Crenna stand out as both going way too far with their performances.

Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Richard Dreyfuss felt he was miscast as Alexander Haig, but also felt it was nevertheless fun. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10) (no change from original review)
