Old Henry (2021)

“It can be hard to tell who and what a man is, he’s got a mind to convince you otherwise.” – Henry

Number of Times Seen – 1 (10 Oct 2021)

Brief Synopsis – A farmer and his son take in a wounded man who is wanted by some dangerous men.

My Take on it – This was such a great film that truly surprised me.

The story is played out really well and they know how to keep the tension flowing form start to finish.

The mysteries of the story are not revealed all at once and it’s great learning them along with the other characters.

As a Western, things are set up really well in showing how some things are ingrained in a man even after he has changed his way of life decades earlier.

Time Blake Nelson does a wonderful job in the lead role and truly makes the viewer believe that he is adept at both farming and gun-slinging which in some ways makes one pity the bad guys who never really know what they have gotten themselves into.

The action scenes are done in very thrilling ways and don’t necessarily follow the normal movie tropes, yet still remain suspenseful and surprising as things move along.

The ruthlessness of the villains in apparent throughout and they honestly believe that they are the best at what they do and that nobody will ever be able to prove them differently… until they show up at this small little farm.

Highly Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Central & western Oklahoma has noticeable red soil, not seen in this film, which places it in eastern Oklahoma. (From IMDB)
