Silk Road (2021)

“You might not know it, but… But dudes are buying and selling narcotics on the computers. There was a reshuffle at work and I got promoted and put into cybercrimes, so… I need someone to show me how to buy dope on YouTube.” – Rick Bowden

Number of Times Seen – 1 (19 Oct 2021)

Brief Synopsis – Based on the true story of how a disgraced Federal Agent delegated to cyber crimes worked to take down one of the biggest criminals of the Dark Web.

My Take on it – Such a fun and thrilling movie.

The story is based on a true story and stays engaging and enjoyable from start to finish.

The way that the plot plays out is done so well largely due to the twists and turns throughout which add so much to the suspense of it all.

Loved the way that they show the story from the perspective of both sides of the law which adds so much to the way that things move along.

The cast is great and Jason Clarke does a wonderful job in this complex role and helps make things feel so realistic with his portrayal especially since we get to see how his character develops as he learns all about cyber crimes and the Internet.

The story shows how cyber-crime divisions must utilize both new and old methods when tracking suspects.

They also show how this kind of work (on both sides of the law) can interfere with one’s personal life and this adds so much to the way that things play out.

Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The film has no opening credits. The title does not appear until the end credits. (From IMDB)
