Brief Synopsis – An off duty detective at a Christmas party in L.A. gets trapped in an office building taken over by terrorists

My Take on it – Such an amazing movie that works so well time after time.

Bruce Willis is perfectly cast in the lead role that helped spawn a genre.

The “everyman” that he plays works so well in keeping the audience cheering because it is never easy for his character to constantly beta the odds.

The story has some nice twists and turns that wok even if someone already is familiar with things due to the way that breadcrumbs are scattered all around the script as things unfold.

Alan Rickman is superb as the villain and makes the audience cringe each time he appears because he is so calm and collective despite being so menacing in all that he does.

The action scenes are presented in a more realistic feeling way that helps keep the story more plausible despite these kind of movies always being slightly heavy handed.

Excellent supporting cast also adds so much life and color to the story.

Highly Highly Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Bruce Willis’ exhaustion from his schedule (he was also shooting Moonlighting (1985)) forced Steven E. de Souza to beef up the roles of the other characters, giving characters like Al Powell, Ellis, Argyle, and Richard Thornburg more personality and screen time. Rating – Oscar Worthy (10/10) (no change from original review)
