Now You Know (2002)

“The Rockettes kick when they sing. It doesn’t make ’em black belts.” – Gil

Number of Times Seen – 1 (3 Jan 2022)

Brief Synopsis – After finding out ton the eve of his wedding that his fiancee wants to call things off, a man tries to figure out what happened.

My Take on it – This is a film that was quite intriguing to watch because I knew that it had a strong involvement of Kevin Smith in getting it made.

Unfortunately, beside Smith’s quick cameo at the beginning, the story just doesn’t work as well as his films usually do.

The characters aren’t endearing at all to the viewer and the way that things play out comes across in a pretty unrealistic way.

Loved seeing Jeremy Sisco here, but the story just doesn’t pan out as well as one might hope.

The jokes don’t work and there is a message buried deep down within the plot, but it never finds a way to surface.

They fail to develop any of these character in a more poignant way and that also hurts things because there is no real reason to care about any of them or about what happens to them along the way.

Jeff Anderson is a superb supporting actor in Kevin Smith’s film’s , but he can’t seem to hold this one together by himself and it shows.

It’s a nice effort as writer and director, but doesn’t manage to reach par no matter how hard they try.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The two bars shown in the movie were physically the same bar, decorated differently. (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy (4/10)
