The idea behind this feature (Genre Guesstimation) is for me to watch a bunch of new movies (or ones that I haven’t seen many times) from the chosen monthly GG genre in order to expand my knowledge of movies within that particular genre.
This month’s genre has been chosen by Jason Soto of The Rabbit Hole Podcasts and we will be reviewing our favorite Comedies that feature characters who are either Stoners or Drunk..
Please get me your submissions by the 25th of Jan by sending them to stonerjason@movierob.net
Tnx Jason!
Try to think out of the box!
Let’s see if I felt that this movie would be worthy of being in the company of my others favorite movies in the genre of Comedies that feature characters who are either Stoners or Drunk………
“We will now use the power of the Continuum Transfunctioner to banish you to Hoboken, New Jersey. ” – Alien Nordic Dude #1
Number of Times Seen – Twice (28 Apr 2006 and 17 Jan 2022)
Brief Synopsis – Two potheads try to figure out where they left their car after a night of partying.
My Take on it – I decided that in order to make my guest choices of the Genre for the Genre Grandeur series more personal (and expand my own personal horizons of these genres), I will take a recommendation from my guest for a film to watch for this Genre Guesstimation series.
This film was Jason’s choice for me to watch.
This is a movie that I saw years ago and wasn’t very impressed with at the time, but when Jason challenged me to rewatch it, I figured that I’d give it another shot.
Unfortunately, it didn’t get better with time.
Ashton Kutcher and Sean William Scott are perfectly cast in these roles, yet never really manage to make things more interesting or engaging to watch.
The plot is extremely silly and doesn’t work at all due to the way that things play out.
The jokes aren’t very funny and this is probably another film that is best viewed in an inebriated state because many then things will come across more humorous.
Watching it while sober tho, doesn’t help at all because it’s a complete mess from start to finish.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The film’s story came from a rejected live action Beavis and Butt-Head (1993) movie concept in the late-’90s. (From IMDB)
Genre Grandeur Worthy? – Not at all. The story itself is quite silly and not much happens that makes much sense.
Rating – Razzie Worthy (2/10)
