“When it finally registers and sinks in that there’s something going on was when you actually started getting subpoenaed to the Peer’s Committee. What kind of trouble were we in? We don’t know.” – Fred Widmer

Brief Synopsis – Documentary about the tragic circumstances of My Lai, where a massacre occurred during The Vietnam War.
My Take on it – This film gives a comprehensive look at the events that led to this famed massacre and tries to do its bets to explain what caused this event to actually happen.
They give the viewer some great interviews with many of the people involved in a way to try and understand the mindset at the time.
I have always known the basic facts of the events of that day, yet this documentary goes into vivid detail of all that transpired there before, after and of course during this event which are all so eye opening to learn about.
They do a great job trying to explain the events that happened prior to this massacre in order to get a clearer understanding of things, despite the fact that there is never an excuse for something like this happening especially when the intelligence that the soldiers were given was possibly incorrect, but we’ll never truly know.
