Ice Sharks (2016)

“These numbers are wrong. That, or the ice is melting much faster than we thought.” – Sammy

Number of Times Seen – 1 (4 Feb 2022)

Brief Synopsis – Researchers in the Arctic (or Antarctic) discover killer sharks have migrated to the area.

My Take on it – Absolutely horrendous and hilarious movie because it is completely out of control stupid.

The story makes very little sense and there are far too many inconsistencies that add to the silliness of it all.

The film tries on the one hand to present itself as an environmental group seeking to keep the world safe, but many of the things that they do contradict that numerous times.

The production value of this film is very very low and therefore the effects are far too choppy and unrealistic along the way.

The acting is completely wooden and none of these characters come across as feeling genuine or real in any of the situations that they find themselves in.

The shark attacks are shown very quickly and when they allow the viewer to get a view of the sharks, they look far too rubbery, cheap and unreal.

The dialogue is funny because it also makes these characters seem so much more unintelligent when they are all suppose to be smarter because they are meant to be scientific researchers.

The geography of the film also isn’t very clear, but it doesn’t really make a difference because this is so problematic even without that.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The map that is referenced while talking to the Hunters is of Ross Island and the Ross Sea those are part of Antarctica not the Arctic which is where the camp is supposed to be. (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy (1/10)
