Men In Black International (2019) – 8600th Review!!!!

“Always remember: the universe has a way of leading you to where you’re supposed to be, at the moment you’re supposed to be there.” – M.I.B UK Branch Head

Number of Times Seen – 1 (14 Feb 2022)

Brief Synopsis – A young girl obsessed with alien life tries to get accepted into MiB.

My Take on it – This film just doesn’t work as well as one might hope and that probably has much to do with the fact that it lacks the presence of the two main characters who made the previous films so much fun; Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.

The choice to try and reboot this series just doesn’t work here and even with the likes of Chris Hemsworth and Liam Neeson, it fails to give the viewer something that feels so fresh and unique in all that happens.

The story is a bit too convoluted for its own good and constantly tries to reinvent itself to no avail.

The plot doesn’t flow well enough and that hurts things far too much.

The idea to try and make this a more global organization is definitely worthy of praise, but they could have done things so much better than how it all plays out here.

As always, the special effects are top notch here and that it the main reason to watch this film because it is visually stunning even if the story needs much more work to make it more enjoyable for the viewer which is such a shame because there was so much more potential here than is realized.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – This movie was originally going to be a “Jump Street” – “Men in Black” crossover with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill reprising their roles. However, plans fell apart, so it became a spin-off, with Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy (4/10)
