“It must be jet lag. My emotions are getting the best of me. ” – Emily Reed
Number of Times Seen – 1 (21 Feb 2022)
Brief Synopsis – A lawyer sent to work in Brazil falls in love with the corporate client, a self made millionaire.
My Take on it – Horrendous film that makes so little sense at all.
This is obviously par for the course for these kind of films that Mickey Rourke was a part of during the 80’s and early 90’s.
The story itself makes very little sense and fails to be engaging enough.
They try to make things seem more interesting by adding in numerous erotic scenes, but even those scenes feel far too bland and uninteresting which shows that even those scenes were a waste of time making.
The characters aren’t very likable and nothing that happens makes the viewer want to root for any of them in all that they do here.
In addition to Rourke, this film also features Jacqueline Bisset and Rourke’s girlfriend at the time/future wife Carre Otis who didn’t manage to go on and have much of a career after this film bombed.
Loved seeing Bruce Greenwood in a integral role even if his character here also isn’t very unlikable which is different from what one expects him to play.
This film was a complete waste of time to watch.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The hotel construction site was actually the skeleton of an abandoned hotel in Salvador, Bahia that was never completed. It was imploded a few years later, after decades of abandonment. (From IMDB)
Rating – Razzie Worthy (1/10)
