Princess Diana: Tragedy or Treason? (2017)

“She was finding the pressure of the press following her everywhere, really intimidating and wearing.” – Mary Robertson

Number of Times Seen – 1 (23 Feb 2022)

Brief Synopsis – Documentary that tries to solve the mysteries of what really happened to Princess Diana throughout her marriage and especially on that fateful day in August 1997.

My Take on it – I have always been fascinated by conspiracy theories and this is another one which we will probably never learn the truth about.

The documentary takes its time trying to solve the various mysteries of her marriage to Prince Charles and the events that led to her very untimely death.

The film has some great interviews with people who were acquainted with here and also with people with professional ties to the investigation itself.

They do a nice job mixing together real footage, re-enactments and news footage to help explain the chain of events.

I liked the way it moves backwards and forward in time in order to show connections between events years apart.

It’s also quite fascinating to see how thinks have changed over the course of the past 25 years since these events occurred that have had such a profound effect on the world.

The choice to also add in Richard Belzer as one of the interviewees is great since I’ve always enjoyed his work.

He appears here as an actor/conspiracy theorist and has some nice insight to add to the rest of the story.

Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Split into three one and quarter hour episodes when aired around the twenty year anniversary of her untimely death. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)
